This Thanksgiving get your gratitude on! Let's stop looking for others to fill us up this Thanksgiving and start feeling grateful for those people and things around us.

Perhaps you aren't feeling very grateful? You could probably come up with a very long list of reasons to NOT feel grateful right now; your boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with you, you failed an exam, your parents grounded you, your best friend turned against you, you have to spend the whole week with your family, nobody has texted you or facebooked you and you hate how you look! We all have an uncanny ability to point out all of the negative aspects of our lives, but finding the positive is not quite that easy.

My challenge to you this Thanksgiving is try and think of all of the positive things in your life. Make a list, write a thank you note to a friend or someone who helped you this week or just give someone a hug! Show your appreciation.

My favorite way to get my gratitude on? Wearing my gratitude bracelets! I know you have some bracelets sitting on your dresser or in a box somewhere. Get them out and put them on one wrist. Each time you think of something to be grateful for, move a bracelet to the other wrist. It works!

Let me know how you get your gratitude on. Email me or leave a comment.

Peace & Gratitude

"When Akiba was on his deathbed, he bemoaned to his rabbi that he felt he was a failure. His rabbi moved closer and asked why, and Akiba confessed that he had not lived a life like Moses. The poor man began to cry, admitting that he feared God's judgment. At this, his rabbi leaned into his ear and whispered gently, "God will not judge Akiba for not being Moses. God will judge Akiba for not being Akiba."
                                                                     -From The Talmud

This blog is a place to discuss growing into who you are, living your truth, defying the cultural standards of beauty and learning to be grateful for whatever your circumstances may be.
Today, practice being who you were meant to be. Look in the mirror and embrace who you are, not who you think the world perceives you to be. Afterall, you were born to be you, not your neighbor, sister, friend or teammate.
